Looking Through a Circle in a Circle of Gazes
The AMA Study Center at Artium Museoa serves as a research platform dedicated to contemporary art, the creation and dissemination of knowledge, and critical methodologies based on collaboration and experimentation, always aligned with the museum's exhibition program.
This public program, curated by Catalina Lozano in collaboration with artist Louidgi Beltrame, complements the eponymous exhibition and aims to expand its research scope. It explores performance art and films that engage with diasporic thought from various perspectives.
The program "Looking Through a Circle in a Circle of Gazes" critically examines how moving images have influenced the construction of narratives and representations of "otherness," as defined by modern Western epistemology, giving rise to a diverse tradition of ethnographic cinema.
