Artium Museoa, located in Vitoria, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Education to join its team.
Reporting directly to the Chief Curator and the Museum Director, the Head of Education will be responsible for proposing, designing, producing, and successfully implementing the museum’s educational programming, ensuring alignment with the institution’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strengthen the museum’s role as a vital hub for learning and cultural development by initiating and developing innovative educational projects and programs.
- Establish and nurture collaborative networks with various institutions and entities to deliver projects tailored to diverse pedagogical contexts and audiences.
- Oversee the comprehensive design and management of Artium Museoa’s educational initiatives, actively facilitating the integration of new methodologies into the institution’s operational framework.
- Manage pedagogical content across various physical and digital platforms, maintaining close coordination with other museum program managers.
- Administer the overall coordination of scholarship and internship programs.
- Form and lead cross-functional teams for the development and execution of proposed programs.
- Efficiently manage the budget allocated to the education department.
- Execute specific programs designed for the museum’s diverse audiences, developed in collaboration with content departments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Art History, or Humanities.
- Minimum of five years of demonstrable experience in the development and management of educational programs within cultural institutions.
- Minimum of five years of experience specifically in the design of educational programs.
- Proven experience in supervision, resource planning, and budget management.
- Possession of strong pedagogical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, a collaborative teamwork approach, and robust project planning and management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Basque (Euskera) at a C1 level.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Higher education (Master’s, PhD, Postgraduate courses) related to Art History and/or pedagogy in cultural institutions.
- Knowledge of other languages, particularly English and French.
