Taller de creación de moldes y vaciado. Museo Picasso Málaga

Pablo Picasso, a central figure in 20th-century art, not only mastered painting and printmaking but also dedicated a significant part of his career to sculpture and modeling. He experimented with various materials such as plaster, clay, and metal, revealing a profound interest in volume and the construction of new forms. His constant three-dimensional exploration, from his early creations to his monumental works, was fundamental to his creative quest and established him as a key innovator in sculpture.

This workshop offers an immersion into the fundamental technique of plaster casting, crucial in both sculpture and ceramics. Participants will learn to create plaster molds from existing objects, and then use these molds for casting with clay. The process will cover all stages: from the meticulous preparation of the mold and the correct mixing of the plaster, to the careful extraction of the final ceramic piece, allowing for direct and reproducible work with volume.

The workshop also includes a guided visit to the exhibitions “Picasso. Memory and Desire” and “Picasso: Structures of Invention. The Unity of a Work,” as well as all necessary materials for the practice.

Date and Time: April 11, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Fee: 25 euros.
